About this product

The new style MultiPlus is set to replace the earlier MultiPlus Compact range. It is a powerful true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that features adaptive charge technology and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. Available in 500VA, 800VA, 1200VA and 1600VA models, in 12V, 24V and 48V versions.

 

One Box, Three Jobs

A low-distortion pure sine wave inverter, a smart adaptive charger, and an integrated 16A AC transfer switch — all in one enclosure. Connect a single shore-power or generator inlet, your battery bank, and your loads to one device. The MultiPlus charges when AC is present and inverts from the battery when it is not.
If you need two AC inputs for both shore power and a generator with automatic source selection, look at the Quattro instead. For everything else in this power class, the MultiPlus is the answer.

 

Uninterrupted AC Power (UPS Function)

In the event of a grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the MultiPlus is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast — less than 20 milliseconds — that computers, routers, AV gear and other sensitive electronics continue to operate without disruption.

 

PowerControl & PowerAssist

The MultiPlus prevents a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection, from being overloaded.
PowerControl lets you set a maximum generator or shore current. The MultiPlus then takes other AC loads into account and uses only the leftover capacity for charging, so the inlet breaker never trips.
PowerAssist takes this a step further. When peak power is required but only for short periods, the MultiPlus compensates for insufficient shore or generator power with energy drawn from the battery. When the load subsides, the excess energy is used to recharge the battery.

 

High Start-Up Power and Search Mode

The MultiPlus delivers high inrush capability to start demanding loads such as power converters for LED or halogen lamps, and electric tools. When idle, Search Mode cuts no-load consumption by roughly 70%. In this mode, the MultiPlus shuts down when there is no load or very low load, and wakes briefly every two seconds to check. If the output current exceeds the set threshold, the inverter continues running. If not, it shuts down again.

 

Adaptive Multi-Stage Charging – Lithium and Lead-Acid Friendly

A four-stage charge profile (bulk, absorption, float, storage) with adaptive-charge software and an included battery temperature sensor, suitable for lithium, AGM, gel, and flooded batteries. House-battery charge current ranges from 10A up to 80A by model, plus a 1A trickle output to keep an engine or generator starter battery topped up.

 

Practical System Integration

The MultiPlus is compatible with solar charge controllers, grid-tied inverters, and other alternative energy installations. It can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected systems, making it a versatile core component for hybrid energy setups.

 

Parallel and Three-Phase Operation

Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel for higher power requirements. Three-phase or split-phase operation is also possible. The most important settings — including parallel operation and three-phase operation — can be changed in a very simple manner using DIP switches, without requiring a computer.
This means a single 500VA unit for a Starlink terminal and a few lights can grow into a multi-unit system for a larger installation — same product line, same configuration tools, no forced replacement.

 

On-Site Configuration, Monitoring, and Control

Settings can be modified in minutes using VEConfigure software (requiring a computer or laptop and an MK3-USB interface). A wide range of monitoring and control options is available: Cerbo GX, Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, computer, Bluetooth (with the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle), Battery Monitor, and the Digital Multi Control panel.

 

Remote Configuration and Monitoring

When coupled with a GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX) you can monitor and control your MultiPlus and system or systems locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world, using the free VRM app and VRM portal website. Access can be from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC for multiple operating systems. There is no end to the level of control, from adjusting your MultiPlus to auto-starting a backup generator and more.

 

Comprehensive Protection

The unit incorporates full protection against output short circuits, overload, battery over-voltage, battery under-voltage, over-temperature, AC on inverter output, and excessive input voltage ripple. The inverter is protected against short circuit, and against overload or overheating due to high ambient temperature.
