The EasyPlus occupies a distinct position in the Victron range. It is not simply a MultiPlus with a different name. It is a complete AC power system in a single enclosure - inverter, charger, transfer switch, and AC distribution all factory-wired and ready to connect. For installers and system owners who value simplicity without sacrificing capability, the EasyPlus removes an entire layer of components that would otherwise need to be sourced, wired, and housed separately.
What “Integrated AC Distribution” Actually Means
The defining feature of the EasyPlus is the built-in AC distribution panel. On a conventional inverter/charger installation, the AC output feeds into an external consumer unit containing an RCD and circuit breakers. That consumer unit must be purchased, mounted, wired, and certified separately.
The EasyPlus eliminates that external box. Inside the enclosure, Victron has integrated a 30mA/16A Residual Current Device and four AC circuit breakers - two rated at 10A and two at 16A. The AC wiring is pre-made. Once the RCD is switched on and the unit is connected to the battery and loads, the system is operational. No separate distribution board. No additional enclosure. No extra wiring.
For installations where space is genuinely tight - a campervan electrical locker, a small boat’s equipment bay, a compact off-grid cabin - this integration is not a convenience. It is the difference between a system that fits and one that does not.
1600VA Inverter with 3000W Peak Capability
The EasyPlus delivers 1600VA continuous output and 3000W peak power from a 12V DC input. That peak rating matters for real-world loads: a refrigerator compressor starting, a microwave cycling on, a power tool drawing inrush current. The inverter handles these surges without shutting down or requiring a larger, heavier unit.
The output is a true sine wave, compatible with sensitive electronics including computers, audio equipment, and modern appliance controls. Efficiency reaches 92%, and the unit operates across a DC input range of 9.5V to 17V.
70A Adaptive Charger with Starter Battery Maintenance
The built-in charger delivers 70A to the house battery bank. Charging follows a four-stage adaptive profile - bulk, absorption, float, and storage - with a supplied temperature sensor adjusting voltage based on battery temperature. The adaptive algorithm shortens absorption time after shallow discharges to prevent overcharging and extends it after deep discharges to ensure full recharge.
A separate 4A output maintains the starter battery. This is particularly relevant for vehicles and vessels where the starting battery would otherwise be left uncharged during extended shore power connections. The EasyPlus keeps both banks healthy without requiring an additional maintenance charger.
PowerAssist and PowerControl - Making the Most of Limited Shore Power
The EasyPlus includes both PowerControl and PowerAssist. A maximum shore or generator current can be set via a control panel. The unit then prioritises connected loads and uses only the remaining capacity for charging. When peak power is required for a short period - an air conditioner starting, a kettle boiling – PowerAssist supplements the shore supply with battery energy rather than tripping the inlet breaker.
For campervans and small boats that frequently connect to 16A or even 10A shore supplies, this functionality determines whether a system can run a coffee machine and a hair dryer simultaneously without resorting to a larger generator or a second shore cord.
Uninterrupted Transfer and Split Outputs
When shore or generator power fails, the EasyPlus transfers to inverter supply in less than 20 milliseconds. Computers, routers, and navigation equipment continue operating without interruption. The main AC output provides no-break functionality.
The secondary AC output is live only when an external AC source is available. Loads that should not discharge the battery - a water heater, an air conditioning unit, a large resistive load - can be connected here. When the EasyPlus switches to inverter mode, these loads are automatically shed, preserving battery capacity for essential circuits.
Where the EasyPlus Makes Sense
The EasyPlus is not intended for every installation. It is the right choice when three conditions align: moderate power requirements, limited physical space, and a preference for installation simplicity.
Typical applications include:
Campervans and compact motorhomes where the electrical enclosure has room for an inverter/charger but not for a separate consumer unit. The integrated RCD and MCBs allow a complete AC distribution system to be installed in the same footprint as the inverter alone.
Small boats and day cruisers where space below deck is at a premium and the electrical system must be straightforward to commission and maintain. The factory-wired AC distribution reduces the number of terminations and the potential for wiring errors.
Off-grid cabins and tiny homes where a 1600VA system is sufficient for lighting, refrigeration, device charging, and small appliances, and where the owner or installer wants a single box that handles inversion, charging, transfer, and distribution.
Mobile workshops and service vehicles where a compact, self-contained AC power system is required and the installation must be completed quickly without fabricating a separate distribution panel.
For systems requiring larger capacity, dual AC inputs, or North American split-phase compatibility, the MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, or Quattro ranges remain the appropriate choice. The EasyPlus serves the segment where a single compact unit can meet the entire requirement - and where the absence of external components is itself a feature.
Scalability and System Integration
Despite its compact form, the EasyPlus is not a dead-end product. Up to six units can operate in parallel for higher output, and three units can be configured for three-phase operation. Configuration is handled through DIP switches for standalone use or VE.Bus software for parallel and three-phase systems.
When paired with a GX device such as the Cerbo GX, the EasyPlus can be monitored and controlled remotely via the VRM portal. Solar integration is straightforward: MPPT charge controllers connect to the same battery bank, and the EasyPlus continues to provide AC power during grid failures, making the system a genuine hybrid energy solution rather than a simple backup unit.
