MultiPlus-II GX - Integrated InverterCharger and Monitoring in a Single Enclosure,PMP242306000

About this product

The MultiPlus-II GX takes the proven MultiPlus-II platform and integrates a GX monitoring device directly into the same chassis. The result is a single unit that handles inverter, charger, transfer switch, and system monitoring - eliminating the need for an external Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or separate display hardware.
For installers, this means fewer components, less wiring, and a smaller footprint. For system owners, it means full access to the VRM portal, remote configuration, and real-time system data without adding a second device to the wall.
Available models: 24/3000/70-32, 48/3000/35-32, 48/5000/70-50, 48/4k5/55-32, and 48/6k5/100-50.

The Integrated GX Device - What It Actually Does

The built-in GX device includes a backlit 2x16 character display that shows live system parameters directly on the unit. More importantly, it provides the connectivity that would otherwise require a separate monitoring device:
A BMS-Can interface for connecting compatible 500 kbps CAN-bus managed batteries
A VE.Direct port for Victron MPPT solar charge controllers
A USB port for local configuration and firmware updates
An Ethernet port for LAN connectivity and VRM portal access
WiFi support for wireless local monitoring and remote access
One clarification that matters during installation: the port labelled VE.Can on the MultiPlus-II GX is actually a dedicated BMS-Can port. It supports compatible managed batteries but does not support Victron VE.Can products such as VE.Can MPPT solar chargers or a Lynx Shunt VE.Can. For those devices, a separate VE.Can interface is required.

VRM Portal and Remote Management

Once connected to the internet via Ethernet or WiFi, the MultiPlus-II GX uploads operational data to the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal free of charge. From the VRM website or the VRM app, users can view real-time power flow, battery state of charge, solar yield, and generator runtime. Remote VEConfigure allows settings to be changed from anywhere in the world - no laptop on site, no MK3-USB interface required.
This is particularly valuable for systems in remote locations, on vessels that move between marinas, or in service contracts where the installer needs to diagnose and adjust a system without travelling to the site.

PowerControl and PowerAssist - Unchanged from the MultiPlus-II

The GX variant retains the full PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality of the standard MultiPlus-II. A maximum generator or shore current can be set, and the unit automatically prioritises loads while using only surplus current for battery charging. Where peak power is required for short periods, PowerAssist supplements the AC input with battery energy - preventing breaker trips on weak shore supplies or undersized generators without requiring a larger AC source.

Uninterrupted Transfer and Two AC Outputs

When shore or generator power fails, the MultiPlus-II GX transfers to inverter supply in less than 20 milliseconds. Computers, navigation equipment, and communication electronics continue running without interruption. The second AC output is active only when an AC source is present, providing a dedicated circuit for loads that should not discharge the battery - a water heater, air conditioning, or other non-critical high-power equipment.

Parallel and Three-Phase Operation - One GX Unit Is Enough

The MultiPlus-II GX supports parallel and three-phase configurations. Up to six units can operate in parallel for higher output, and three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase supply.
The practical advantage of the GX variant in these systems is significant: in a parallel or three-phase installation, only one unit needs to be a GX model. The remaining units can be standard MultiPlus-II inverter/chargers, with the GX unit acting as the central monitoring and control node for the entire system. This reduces cost and simplifies the installation compared to adding a separate Cerbo GX to a group of standard units.

Battery Compatibility and Charging

The MultiPlus-II GX is compatible with LiFePO₄ lithium batteries and traditional lead-acid chemistries. The BMS-Can interface allows direct communication with compatible managed batteries, enabling charge current limits, voltage setpoints, and cell-level protection to be coordinated between the battery and the inverter/charger. Charging follows an adaptive four-stage profile with temperature compensation via the supplied battery temperature sensor.

Comprehensive Protection

The unit incorporates full protection against output short circuits, overload, battery over-voltage, battery under-voltage, over-temperature, AC on inverter output, and excessive input voltage ripple.

Where the MultiPlus-II GX Fits

The MultiPlus-II GX is intended for applications where system integration and remote visibility are not optional extras but core requirements. Typical installations include:
Off-grid homes and remote cabins where the owner or installer needs to monitor battery state, solar yield, and generator runtime without visiting the site. A single MultiPlus-II GX, paired with an MPPT solar charger and a managed lithium battery, provides the complete energy core with built-in monitoring.
Marine installations where space is limited and separate monitoring hardware would be difficult to accommodate. The integrated GX device provides VRM access and local display without adding another enclosure to an already crowded equipment locker.
Grid-connected energy storage systems where the MultiPlus-II GX coordinates battery charging, solar self-consumption, and backup power, with all data visible through the VRM portal for performance analysis and tariff optimisation.
Multi-unit systems where one GX model anchors a parallel or three-phase configuration of standard MultiPlus-II units, providing centralised control and monitoring without external hardware.
Mobile and specialty vehicle applications where the installer wants a single-box solution that handles power conversion and monitoring, reducing wiring complexity and commissioning time.
For systems that already include a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, the standard MultiPlus-II remains the appropriate choice. The MultiPlus-II GX is for installations where the monitoring function belongs inside the inverter/charger enclosure - simpler to install, simpler to service, and simpler to explain to the end user.
